Log in to your CPanel. The CPanel (control panel) is an application that came with your hosting account. Information on how to log in was emailed to you after purchasing the account. Refer to the email on how to log in.
Click on 'FTP Accounts.' This will allow you to add new users and/or change permissions of existing users. There is an area at the top to add new users, or you can click on the area next to an existing user to change the permission. Once you are finish with this, go back to the homepage.
Click on 'File Manager.' This is where you can change the permissions to certain files and directories. Once the File Manager comes up, right-click on a folder or file. Click on 'Change Permissions.' In the dialog box that appears, set whatever permissions you like for users or public access.
Changing Permission Through FTP Software
Open the software program and connect to your server. This is done by using the FTP username and password that you set up through the CPanel. Once connected, you will see a list of all of your files and directories on the right side of the program.
Right-click on a file or directory. Choose 'Change Permission.' Set the permission to the file or directory by selecting or deselecting the checks from the 'Read,' 'Write' and 'Execute' boxes.
Wait for verification that the permission has been changed in the status box. The status box is usually above or below the area where the files are listed. Sometime you will receive an error message if the program wasn't able to change permissions. If this happens, you will have to alter the permissions on the site level by going to the CPanel's FTP Accounts screen.

How to Create a Web page in KompozerIn Feburary 2016 13,
In Feburary 2016 13,
Open Kompozer. A new, blank page should appear once you open the program.
Click on 'Format' on the top task bar. Scroll down and select 'Page Titles and Properties.'
Enter the name of your web page in the 'Title' field. This text is what will be displayed at the top of a visitor's browser. It could be 'Welcome' or 'My Homepage.' Click 'Okay' to save these changes.
Type text into the main body of your page. It could just be dummy text, since you are merely setting up your first web page. If you want to adjust the font size, color or background color, use the buttons located in the third bar from the top.
Click on 'Edit' in the main toolbar and select 'Publishing Site Settings.'
Give your site a name. It doesn't have to be your URL. Enter the name in the 'Site Name' field.
Enter the HTTP address of your homepage in the next field. It should look like the following: http://www.ehow.com.
Enter your publishing server information in the next section. This will be the ftp address provided to you by your web-hosting provider. It will likely be similar to the address of your home page.
Enter the username and password provided to you by your web-hosting provider. Click 'Okay' when you're done.
Click on 'File' and 'Save.' Save this page as index.html. This will serve as your home page.
Click on 'File' and 'Publish.' Fill in the required information (if it is not already filled in for you), including the name of the page you created and the name of the file, which should be index.html.
Click 'Publish.' The software should automatically transmit your page to your web host. To confirm that the transfer worked properly, type in your URL and determine that the page you just created in Kompozer is now online.

How to Find the Login for FTP for GoDaddyIn Feburary 2016 08,
In Feburary 2016 08,
Check the email you received from GoDaddy when you created your Web hosting account. GoDaddy recommends that customers print out this confirmation email, because it contains important account information that customers often need to use as they manage a website. Either find the email within a folder of your email browser or find the printed copy of the email, because it contains your login name and password.
Visit the GoDaddy website and enter your Customer Number in the upper-left corner of the homepage. Click the 'My Account' tab and then click 'Web Hosting' from beneath the 'Products' section in the left sidebar. Select the domain you wish to view and find the 'Overview' tab. Within the 'Overview' tab, you will see a 'Login' box with your username.
Create a new password if you cannot remember your password and you do not have your confirmation email from GoDaddy. Visit the GoDaddy website and enter your Customer Number in the upper-left corner of the homepage. Click the 'My Account' tab and then click 'Web Hosting' from beneath the 'Products' section in the left sidebar. Click 'Launch' beside the correct hosting account. Within the 'FTP' section, find the 'Password' field and select 'Change.' Enter a new password twice into the appropriate fields and select 'Update.' GoDaddy warns that it may take as long as one hour for a new password to take effect.
Contact GoDaddy if you continue to experience technical problems. Dial (480) 505-8877 to speak with a support representative. Provide your customer PIN or the last four digits of the credit card you used to pay for your Web hosting. Providing either of these numbers identifies you to GoDaddy -- the customer service representative will not assist you without either of these numbers. Ask the support representative for your login information. The representative will email you the information to the email address associated with your Web hosting account.
