How to Use Godaddy for Web HostingIn Feburary 2016 26,

In Feburary 2016 26,
Determine what you plan to use your Web site for. GoDaddy hosts small business and personal Web sites. Visit the GoDaddy 'Hosting Plans' Web page to view your options (see Resources below).
Decide how much storage and transfer capacity you need as well as how much you're willing to pay. Your storage and transfer needs will be dictated by how large your Web site will be and how much traffic you expect to get. You will also need to decide whether you will be using a Linux or Windows platform for your site.
Set Up a Hosting Account
Visit the GoDaddy home page (see Resources below). Give yourself a little more than two hours to set up the basics of your Web site. Simple details like password activations can take about 30 minutes to complete.
Drag the mouse over the section in green that reads 'Hosting and Servers' to begin the process of setting up your hosting account. Click on 'My Hosting Account.'
Select the highlighted option in blue called 'Setup New Account.' This will send you to the section to begin your Web site registration process.
Type in the requested information, such as address, phone number and name. If you are starting a small business, be sure to enter the applicable information.
Click on 'Create a New Account' to submit the information.
Select a package by checking the applicable box with your mouse. Finish up the process by clicking 'Checkout.' Then enter payment information.
Use Your Web Site
Create and upload your Web site. The software you use to create and upload your site will depend to some extent on the platform you chose. For example, if you choose a Windows platform, you can use FrontPage software to create and upload a site.
Access the Metropolis Hosting Community offered by GoDaddy to learn about, find or install third-party applications for your site.
Investigate some of the features GoDaddy offers in addition to standard features such as email addresses. For example, GoDaddy offers free blogging tools.

What Is a Sequel Server?In Feburary 2016 18,

In Feburary 2016 18,
Two computer scientists -- Donald D. Chamberlain and Raymond F. Boyce -- developed SQL in 1974 for manipulating and retrieving data from IBM’s System R database platform. Back then, the language was called
SEQUEL, which stood for
Structured English QUEry Language. However, IBM had to change the acronym to
SQL, or
Structured Query Language, because Hawker Siddley, an aircraft company based in the U.K., had already trademarked 'SEQUEL.' In 1979, Oracle Corp. became the first company to base its relational database software on SQL.
Current Status and Major Players
Today, SQL is the industry standard for relational database servers. As of 2013, Oracle had the largest market share with its Oracle Database platform, while IBM’s DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server rounded up the top three.

How to Start an Online Support Group WebsiteIn Feburary 2016 01,

In Feburary 2016 01,
Determine what type of support group you want. You should choose a cause or issue for which you have compassion or with which you have experience. Or it can be for an issue you feel is underserved, such as men who are victims of domestic violence, or those who have a true shopping addiction.
Come up with a name for your support group that is to the point. For example, if you want to start a group for shopping addicts, you can call it 'Shopping Addiction Help.' Be direct. The name does not have to be cutesy or 'unique.'
Buy a domain name--you can get one for less than $10. You should get a .com address, but .org and .net addresses are also acceptable, as far as being easy to remember. Get a quality domain registrar, such as GoDaddy, Network Solutions or 1&1.
Choose a forum platform that you would like to use. Make sure that the forum allows your users to register a unique profile and that it allows you to control membership settings, filter curse words (if this is an issue for you) and ban posters, should they become abusive. You can try a platform such as Ning, Forumotion, Forumer or ZoomBoards--these are all free options.
Forward your domain name to your forum's address. To do this, log in to the control panel where you registered the domain, click on the forwarding option and input the address of the forum (you will have this information once you sign up for a hosted forum account). The change may take a couple of minutes to take effect.
Advertise your forum by letting those around you know about it (word of mouth), placing targeted Facebook ads (these are inexpensive) or by placing an ad on a blog related to your support group's cause. You can also try writing a press release and sending it to popular websites and magazines that are devoted to your cause--free press is very effective and will generate a good amount of traffic to your support group's site.
Foster an active, supportive, nurturing environment by encouraging members to share their thoughts and ask questions, periodically asking the entire group a question or posting a poll, setting guidelines regarding appropriate language and etiquette, and banning users who are inflammatory or abusive.
