How to Throw a Karaoke PartyIn Feburary 2016 22,

In Feburary 2016 22,
The most important part of karaoke night is the music. Many mobile DJ businesses offer karaoke services and can be hired to run your event. For a truly professional set-up with the biggest catalog of songs, this may be your best option. Home karaoke systems are available for purchase or rent, but you also have to buy karaoke music. Select a system that is loud enough for your room. While a DJ will come prepared with song lists, if you do it yourself, you need to print your own. Once you decide which option is right for you, set a date and send out invitations.
Setting the Stage
Consider adding thematic elements to your karaoke night. Decorate in a traditional Japanese theme, deck your living room out like a bar-room for a more domestic approach, or combine the two into a swanky Japanese lounge. Reserve a large area for you or a DJ to set up the equipment, with seating facing where the singer will be performing. Consider lighting choices. Ideally, the room is dim, with spotlights or room lighting highlighting the performance area.
Food and Drink
If you decide on a Japanese theme, consider a sushi buffet. Pair with Japanese beers and saki shots. If you're going for more of a bar-room atmosphere, a large selection of pub-food appetizers such as chicken wings, nachos and sliders may be more appropriate, with beer and wine for drinks. If you're not serving adult beverages, serve a festive punch. For ease, serve buffet style so when guests aren't on stage, they can help themselves to snacks and drinks.
Hosting Duties and Games
As with any party, the host will be busy greeting guests, restocking food and drink, and picking up throughout the evening. At a karaoke party, the host usually hosts the show, with aid of the DJ if you hired one. A fun twist on the theme you can do at home, which you don't get at a karaoke party, is to incorporate games and prizes into the night. Gift cards to music retailers make for great prizes. Allow guests to challenge one another on which songs to sing. Award a prize to the biggest crowd pleasers. Consider a prize for whomever dances the most throughout the night.

How to Throw a White PartyIn Feburary 2016 21,

In Feburary 2016 21,
Choose invitations. You can find white invitations in stationary stores or online. This will set the tone for your white party. Send invitations out about three or four weeks before your party date.
Ask guests to wear white. It's nice to specify a dress code, whether it's casual, dressy casual, semi-formal or formal. The party venue and time mostly determine how guests should dress. An afternoon garden party can be fairly casual, while an after 5 o'clock event may be more semi-formal.
Decorate your venue with white streamers, white rugs and other white or light colored decor.
Decorate tables with white linens. You can use white flowers like gardenias in water-filled shallow bowls as centerpieces. Other white flowers you may want to use include roses, carnations, lilies and orchids.
Set place settings in white. This includes white place cards, place mats, napkins and plates.
Serve foods that are white or light in color to keep in line with your white party theme. Food ideas include white chocolate-covered strawberries, light cheeses, risotto, chicken, pork, turkey, white corn, cauliflower, angel food cake (with or without white frosting), coconut cake and vanilla ice cream.
Serve drinks like ginger ale, lemon-lime sodas, pina coladas, martinis, mojitos and White Russians.

How to Host a Casino Night PartyIn Feburary 2016 08,

In Feburary 2016 08,
Decide on your location. Your own home or backyard is an option for a smaller party. A fundraiser for a larger crowd will need a bigger venue. Contact your local recreation center or school to find a room to rent.
Send emails, social-networking invites or regular-mail invitations to everyone on your guest list. However you get the word out, be sure to include a date that people need to reply by. When you know how many people are planning on attending the casino night, your final party planning will be more accurate. If you are renting gaming tables, knowing the approximate head count is especially important.
Decorate the room with black, white and green balloons and paper products. Add streamers from the door frames and hang large cutouts of dice and playing cards from a party supply company (see Resources). The rest of the decor can come from the tables and games themselves, since most of the furniture in the room will be replaced with casino night items. You can also rent black velvet table covers with the game designs printed on top.
Plan out the casino night games. Some ideas include poker, blackjack, roulette and craps. Have rule info on hand for the dealer to refer to in case of any disputes. Rent, or purchase, the appropriate setups and supplies.
Serve bite-sized food on small paper plates or napkins. Steer clear of sloppy foods and choose instead basic appetizers such as chips and nuts. You can limit the amount of alcohol guests drink, or at least cut your costs, by handing out one or two drink tickets at admission. Guests who want to drink more can purchase additional beverages. Provide nonalcoholic options such as water, iced tea, coffee or soda.
Hand out awards or prizes throughout the night. You can have a prize for the best poker hand and one for the worst hand. Give the biggest loser a gift, and place a sticker on the bottoms of random chairs for a chance at a small door prize.
